What is the White Tiger
The White Tiger Martial Arts Academies are owned and operated by Master Michael White. Most practitioners know him as the former head instructor for Grand Master In Shik Kim Master In Shik Kim of Kim's Martial Arts in Sioux City.
The White Tiger is the largest and most established Martial Arts organization in Sioux City and with good reason. The Kim’s Martial Arts-White Tiger program has been changing lives in Sioux City for over 30 years. The White Tiger is locally owned and operated with four convenient locations: our main school on Floyd Boulevard, our East Side branch in the Siouxland Gymnastics Academy, and our programs at Four Seasons Fitness Centers in North Sioux City, SD and downtown Sioux City, IA. We are very proud of our internationally certified WTU instructors who have been trained in a rigorous five-year program.
The White Tiger's award winning program offers junior students: concentration, self-control, respect, manners, responsibility, obedience, confidence, and a productive attitude. In a recent study, Martial Arts was proven to aid in the treatment of Hyperactivity and Attention Deficit Disorders. Adult students benefit from improved cardiovascular health, weight loss, strength, confidence, and stress relief.

About Mr. White
Mike White began his Martial Arts instruction in 1982 after taking a beating on a public school bus. He was originally instructed by Mike Totton and Don
“Spike” Smith then of Grand Master In Mook Kim of Kim’s Nautilus and Fitness Centers. In 1987 Mr. White began instruction with his mentor Grand Master In Shik Kim and joined the WTF and WTU. Masters Kim and White have since shared a father-son-like relationship.
Mike also became interested in Japanese Martial Arts and received a Black Belt in Shotokan Karate for Self Defense from Master Takashi Kosugi and founded the Wayne State College Karate Club in 1990. He taught courses in self-defense, women's assault prevention, and Martial Arts as head of instruction at Wayne State College until his graduation in 1992.
After graduation Master White returned to his study of Korean TaeKwonDo with Master In Shik Kim. At that time, he also studied Japanese Shito-Ryu Karate under Masamichi Kishiku. Although Mr. White had a fair amount of success in local and regional tournament circuits in TaeKwonDo and in Karate, his first love is teaching and coaching. Master White has had many successful competitors including several national medalists. Leo Ra went on to the US Olympic Trials in 2000 and Michael Donahoo won a silver medal in the 2007 World Yong Mu Do competition in Yong In, Korea.
Master White is a World TaeKwonDo Union and World TaeKwonDo Federation KuKiWon certified 5th degree Black Belt instructor and is the highest ranking non-Asian in the World TaeKwonDo Union. In 2002, he was appointed to the position of vice-president of the World TaeKwonDo Union (the first non-Korean to hold this position).
Master White’s TaeKwonDo article articles have been published in the “TaeKwonDo Times” and “Martial Arts World.” The Republic of Korea’s National Assembly honored Master White with an award of “Outstanding Contribution” to the art of TaeKwonDo in 2006. Masters Jae Ho Sim and White are also the co-founders of the Global Martial Arts Association.
"As long as one person can have their life changed by the Art the way mine has, I will always dedicate myself to teaching." - Mr. Michael White
